Sushi Yama is located right off Forest Lane and Greenville. The place is small but accommodating, however the service leaves something to be desired (YMMV). Not to say that the service is necessarily bad, but rather it can be slow specially during a full house. You can expect plenty of patrons during the days of their $1 sushi specials. Their sushi is top notch. The rice is warm, fresh and soft (unlike the stickier/harder type found at lower quality sushi houses). The fish is noticeably fresh and flavorful. The dishes are prepared with care and are visually appealing. I had a hard time finding the Sushi Yama menu online so I scanned it and posted it here. I inquired about fax, but its not something they currently support. You can still call ahead and order pick-up/to-go without issue. Overall I rate it a 3 out of 5. A good spot for intimate dinners, not so great for large groups and knowing Japanese is a plus as it will impress the otherwise quiet chef.

That place is awesome! We didn’t have a whole lot of sushi, but the little we did have was really tasty. We had takoyaki (Japanese pancake balls with octopus), gyu don (beef over rice with yam noodles, onions, pickled ginger, the Yama bento box (not worth the $25 they ask, but well worth it on 1/2 price bento night), and a few other things. Service was a tad slow due to the kitchen being swamped, but very helpful with suggestions. They were really enthusiastic about our experience with new foods.
They open at 6:00 (M-Sat 6p-2a), we got there at 6:07 and got the last available table. They were packed. Our server (Erika, great BTW) said Mondays and Thursdays are the best days to go, because the don’t have specials on those nights (W-1/2 price bento boxes, Tu & Sa are dollar sushi night (10 piece minimum) and are a little calmer as a result. The place was well worth the drive and the money just for being an authentic Japanese experience. No fusion here, this place is full on Japanese.
